Tottenham are close to signing Savinho from Manchester City. The clubs reached a verbal agreement last night, the fee is over £75m, and the package is expected to exceed £80m with add-ons. The Brazilian undergoes a medical today — reported by Fabrizio Romano and picked up across the transfer press.
The move is not official yet. This is a verbal agreement ahead of the medical and signatures, so a formal announcement could come today or tomorrow.
Marmoush could be next
Tottenham are not stopping at Savinho. According to Romano, the club is accelerating talks for Omar Marmoush — a second Manchester City forward in this window. The Egyptian joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 for around £59m.
Sky Sports report that Spurs are chasing three new attacking players this window. The club had pursued Savinho before, with City reluctant to engage.
What it means for your squad — today, before the deadline
Start with the narrow but concrete part. Both still appear as Manchester City players in the game’s database: Savinho at £6.5m with 0.2% ownership, Marmoush at £7.0m with 0.8%. Neither carries a warning flag.
If either sits in your squad, the same rule applies that we set out with Ezri Konsa: a player mid-transfer, having had a medical elsewhere, essentially does not feature in a final match for his old club. City host Bournemouth on Sunday, leaving ample time for the paperwork.
The bigger point: City’s wide areas just thinned out
This part affects a far larger group of managers.
Count what Pep Guardiola has left out wide if Savinho leaves and Marmoush follows:
- Jérémy Doku — 75% chance of playing, calf injury.
- Savinho — at a Tottenham medical.
- Marmoush — queued up to leave.
- Rico Lewis, Grealish, Nico González — marginal ownership, marginal roles.
Meanwhile Antoine Semenyo rates 90 with us and is one of only two players in the entire game carrying a “strong buy” verdict. He is owned by 26.4% and costs £8.5m.
Two competitors leaving and a third carrying an injury flag means his minutes become even safer. If you were torn between Semenyo and someone else in that price bracket, this is a point in his favour — and one that materialised this morning.
Worth remembering that City hold five players rated 85+, the most in the league alongside Liverpool. Selling wingers does not change that — it concentrates the value in fewer names.
And Tottenham?
After last year’s arrivals of Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, Spurs are spending heavily again. Savinho at over £75m is another rebuild piece, but for FPL purposes today it matters little: a transferred player enters the game with a delay, at a price set by the game, and will not be available before tonight’s deadline.
